How long have you been a volunteer at WBVFD? 16 years, I joined in 2002.
Are you a responder or administrative member? Responder-Assistant Chief.
How many hours per week do you spend volunteering? 20-30 hours per week depending on work.
What inspired you to become a volunteer? I had friends that asked me to come down and fill out an Application, so I said why not? And I figured it would be a great way to give back to my community.
Who is your role model?
What is your most memorable moment since becoming a member? There are so many memorable moments in the Fire Department but I’d say being able to help those in need and helping families that need it around the Holiday seasons touch your heart.
What is your full time job? I work 40+ hours per week for Verizon as a FIOS Technician.
What positions have you held in the department? President, Vice President, Board Of Directors, Fire Fighter, EMT, Lieutenant , Captain, Assistant Chief
What training do you have and what training do you plan on completing in the future? Fire Officer I-III, Instructor I-III, Firefighter I & II, EMT-B, Hazmat Operations
Terrorism Awareness & Operations, Rescue Technician Vehicle & Machinery, Emergency Vehicle Operator, Pump Operator
I plan on continuing to take command classes.
What are your future goals within the department? My goal is to help make our department the best around and continue to take training and become Chief one day.
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time? I enjoy, Hunting, Fishing, Sporting Events and having family time, I really enjoy watching the kids grow and get better at the sports they play.
Extra Note: I want to Thank everyone from the bottom of my heart who helped me get where I am today in the department. Too many names to list from our own Volunteers to the County Fire Fighters when I was just a young kid showing me the ropes and making me better every day.
