How old are you? 18
How long have you been a volunteer at WBVFD? 3 years.
Are you a responder or administrative member? Responder.
How many hours per week do you spend volunteering? About 8-10 hours per week.
What Inspired you to become a volunteer? I was always interested in emergency services so I figured I’d give it a try.
Who is your role model? Within the station, I look up to Lt. Scott McDonald, he’s been the one who’s guided me through most everything.
What is your most memorable moment since becoming a member? Firehouse Santa. It was my first time ever doing something with the station. I thought it was fun and interesting to support the community.
What is your full time job? Still in high school so I don’t really have a full time job but I worked for Panera for 2 years and now work with Special Events Medical Services.
What training do you have and what training do you plan on completing in the future? I have EMT, Fire 1, Hazardous Materials Operations and Vehicle Machinery Extrication. I plan to get to Paramedic and Fire 2 in the next 2 years.
What are your future goals within the department? I am planning on remaining a volunteer and become a flight paramedic with the Maryland State Police.
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time? Outside of the department I’m active with the Civil Air Patrol.
