Thursday, June 1, 2023 – At our June monthly meeting, American Legion Post 226 Commander Larry Erwin requested a moment to speak to our members. He was joined by several other Legion members. Commander Erwin explained that each year, they choose a charity to donate the earnings of their weekly Bar Bingo to. This past year’s earnings totaled $7,500!

WBVFD President Mike Purcell accepted the check on behalf of our officers and members.

To say “thank you” doesn’t seem like enough. Not only have they helped us immensely with this generous donation but they have selflessly offered their hall to us to hold monthly meetings and fundraisers. In turn, we have provided food for some of their fundraises and helped with events without hesitation. Our appreciation for this wonderful partnership is greater than words can express and we look forward to all future collaboration with our American Legion to serve our community.
